In a recent Instagram post that has grabbed the attention of ESSENCE and Blavity, these women have illustrated that Black Girl Magic exists in every arena.
“In a world that so often overlooks your brilliance, you must be intentional in the love that you craft for yourself.”

Duke senior Chandler Phillips, expressed the story behind the photoshoot (which was the first thing listed on a “Black Girl Magic Senior Year Bucket List”) and its importance to her and the women pictured in a blog post on The Bridge, a media platform for Black and Latina college women.
“Being Black is hard. Being Black and a woman is harder,” Phillips wrote. In a world that so often overlooks your brilliance, you must be intentional in the love that you craft for yourself. We show this love through action…on that bright October day, we showed our love through this photoshoot.”
Congratulations to these ladies on their accomplishment!
