Summer Bell has been a Beauty Vlogger / Atlanta-based makeup artist since 2014 and is proving that beauty goes way beyond makeup through her tness page @miss_svmmert on Instagram. We recently connected with the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa student about her tness journey and what PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT means to her. Check it out below!
What inspired you to start your own tness page?
I wanted a place where I could document and share my growth, and a place where I could motivate others to start their lifestyle change!
What is the biggest thing you want other women to learn from your tness journey?
Work out because you love your body, and not because you hate it!
Your tness journey has been an inspiration to your followers, who are some people you look to for tness inspiration?
To name a few: Katy Hearn, Whitney Simmons, Sumeet Sahni, and Ben Francis!
There are a lot of YouTubers who document their tness journeys as a part of their everyday life, what made you want to make it more of a brand?
I wanted to not have it just be about me and my journey, but others as well.
Since your subscribers/followers know your work as a makeup artist and beauty YouTuber, what does “PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT” mean to you?
I see it as: it's good to be all "glam" sometimes but it's more important to take care of your body physically with exercise!
What are some of your favorite foods to eat before and after a workout?
I love strawberry smoothies and tortilla chips before I head to the gym, and my favorite things to eat after are chocolate protein shakes, grilled chicken or sautéed shrimp with brown rice and veggies!
Based on your Instagram pages, fashion is as much of a passion of yours as tness, what are your favorite places to nd cute workout gear?
To me, it's all about style when you hit the gym... I love GymShark especially for their Flex Leggings (they show off your bum so nicely, and my followers give me the most compliments when I wear them), Nike has great shorts and tops, and lately I've been loving Adidas for their sneakers; but you can really nd cute apparel anywhere, even Walmart!
What advice can you give to anyone trying to manage a healthier lifestyle while in college?
Finding a tness buddy/accountability partner is always a plus because you know that you're not alone! A majority of colleges have an accessible recreation center for all of their students to go to, and a lot of them have
tness classes throughout the week that are super fun! Find what you're into and make a plan for how often you're going to go, make it a part of your to-do list.
