Thank you for being the year that I began to build my relationship with God.

Thank you for being the year that I decided to wholeheartedly love myself.

Both of these things have been the most transformative experiences of my eighteen and a half years on Earth.

The fact that I have the opportunity to wake up every day and choose to love God and choose to love myself has shown me that love of any kind is something you have to consistently decide to do, and that it is definitely worth it. Always has been. Always will be.

This year has shown me the importance of making sure that I feel spiritually and emotionally full before giving to others, and that doing so is not selfish. It’s simply me prioritizing myself so that I can love others better.

Thank you, 2016, for being one of the more challenging years of my life.

Being someone that is quite fond of familiarity, it is understandable that all the big and small changes that happened in my world this year took a toll on me.

Thank you for seeing me through and allowing me to realize that it is all a part of my journey.

Thank you for allowing me to use you to create more meaningful relationships with the people I love. I hope that I’m able to continue that in 2017.

Thank you for being the year that I got the courage to step out of my comfort zone and start working towards my dreams. This year has taught me that there is no “Plan B”, only faith and consistent action.

Thank you for being the year that I developed my discernment for what is and isn’t meant for me. What God intends for my life will find me in His timing.

And, finally, thank you, 2016 for being the year of realizing things. You have been a year full of great lessons and life experiences that I only hope to build on in 2017.
